The Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra is holding its 'Master Series VI' on Friday, July 4th, at 7:30 PM, at the Daejeon Arts Center Art Hall. This performance will feature conductor Hong Seok-won and clarinetist Kim Han, promising a magnificent summer evening.

In the first half, clarinetist Kim Han will perform Mozart's "Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K. 622." This masterpiece, composed by Mozart in the final year of his life for his friend Anton Stadler, beautifully blends the warm and transparent timbre of the clarinet with the orchestra. Kim Han's unique delicate and profound performance is highly anticipated.

Kim Han is currently the first Asian to hold a lifelong principal position in the wind section of the Orchestre de l'Opéra national de Paris, and he is a performer who is elevating the status of Korean classical music on the world stage. This concert will be a valuable opportunity to experience his mature musical world up close.

In the second half, Bruckner's Symphony No. 3, also known as the "Wagner Symphony" as it was dedicated to Wagner, will be performed. Composed of four movements, this piece features a large-scale orchestral arrangement, a spiritual atmosphere, and a meticulous structural beauty, embodying Bruckner's unique philosophical depth and emotional intensity. It promises to be a grand finale that encompasses classical, romantic, and modern sensibilities amidst the summer night's ambiance.

The concert will be conducted by Hong Seok-won, currently the artistic director of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra. A graduate of Seoul National University with a degree in composition and holding the highest performance degree in conducting from the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, he has garnered attention from critics both domestically and internationally for his wide musical spectrum, ranging from opera to contemporary music.

This performance is a representative repertoire among the 2025 Daejeon Philharmonic's Master Series, promising an unforgettable experience for classical music lovers and the general public alike.
