Arsonists Behind Poland Starlink Facility Attack Arrested… "Russia is the Mastermind"

Two suspects who set fire to Poland's Starlink communication network facilities have been apprehended, according to dpa and other news outlets on the 13th (local time).

According to Polish and German authorities, two Turkish nationals suspected of committing arson at a communication facility in Wola Krzysztoporska, Poland, were arrested the previous day at the Nürtingen railway station in southwestern Germany.

Marcin Kierwiński, Poland's Minister of the Interior and Administration, stated that the suspects will be extradited and prosecuted for carrying out sabotage under the instructions of a foreign intelligence agency.

Tomasz Siemoniak, the minister coordinating special services, asserted that "there is no doubt that Russia is behind this sabotage act," claiming that Russia is increasingly employing individuals linked to organized crime. Police announced that they have secured evidence, including video footage, fingerprints, and DNA traces, to prove the suspects' involvement.

On the 23rd of last month, a fire broke out at a base station in Wola Krzysztoporska, located about 40 km south of Warsaw, damaging the power distribution facilities and generators. The base station, operated by Poland's state-owned telecommunications company Exatel, also utilizes SpaceX's Starlink communication network.

Polish authorities are investigating the incident, suspecting it to be a sabotage operation aimed at paralyzing internet services for the Ukrainian military and others. The Polish government has been supporting Ukraine's communications by purchasing Starlink terminals and covering operating costs amid disruptions caused by the war.
