The 4th Gangwon Artists' Hanmadang to be Held in Samcheok from October 16 to 18

The "4th Gangwon Artists' Hanmadang" will be held for three days, from October 16 to 18, around the Samcheok Culture and Arts Center.

Held every October to coincide with "Culture Month," the Gangwon Artists' Hanmadang is a meaningful event where artists from across the province gather to share their artistic activities and communicate with one another. This year marks its 4th iteration.

Under the theme "Art ON Samcheok IN" (a play on words meaning "Art Soul, Samcheok People"), this year's event will be hosted in Samcheok. It is expected to add vitality to Gangwon art and serve as an opportunity to widely promote Samcheok's cultural and artistic charm.

This year's event will be filled with a diverse array of culture and arts programs spanning performances, exhibitions, and literature. The opening ceremony will feature the 68th Gangwon State Culture Awards presentation and celebratory performances, alongside various programs such as the "Colors, Light, and Space of Gangwon" Fine Arts, Photography, and Architecture Exhibition, a poetry recitation event, and comprehensive performances by Gangwon artists.

Additionally, a variety of easy-to-join experience programs will be prepared, making it a festival that artists, provincial residents, and tourists alike can all enjoy together.

An official from Gangwon State stated, "This year's Gangwon Artists' Hanmadang will be a place where you can experience both the cultural charm of Samcheok and the diversity of Gangwon art," adding, "We hope many residents and tourists will visit the venue to enjoy various cultural arts and create special memories."
