Residents of Cheongyo 2-ri in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, have demonstrated a heartwarming spirit of sharing by donating 1,000 books to the Overseas Korean Books Delivery Association. These collected volumes are now prepared to be shared with communities in need across both domestic and international borders.

On August 19, a formal book donation ceremony took place at the Cheongyo 2-ri Village Hall located in Bibong-myeon, Hwaseong-si. The meaningful contribution came together through the collective efforts of the Cheongyo 2-ri village head, barista Park Ga-hyun, and local village elders. Representing the association, Vice Chairman Son Dong-il, Public Relations Director Han Deok-hyun, and Planning Director Park Jung-dae attended the event in person to receive the books.

Following the handover, the 1,000 donated books were safely transported via vehicle to the association's central book warehouse located in Pogok-eup, Yongin-si. These books will be carefully cataloged and stored before being redistributed to affiliated organizations, underprivileged groups lacking educational resources, and various other communities worldwide that require reading materials.

The Overseas Korean Books Delivery Association has built a strong reputation for its exceptional mobility and responsiveness, offering prompt and enthusiastic pickup services anywhere in the country for individuals or groups wishing to donate books, traditional Korean Hanbok, and other cultural items. Association officials emphasized that they always welcome inquiries and outreach from anyone eager to practice the virtue of sharing.

Behind this successful donation lies a special connection between barista Park Ga-hyun and the association's Planning Director Park Jung-dae, which has recently drawn considerable attention. The two first met as classmates in the "Barista 26th Class" while studying together to acquire their barista certification in 2026. This serendipitous friendship ultimately blossomed into a fruitful collaboration, laying the vital groundwork for this large-scale community book donation.
