Over 200 participants, including people with disabilities, multicultural residents, and locals, walked a 1km course together at Sangdong Lake Park.
Bucheon City announced that it successfully held the "2026 Ttubergi Walking Festival with Buyiyeon" at Sangdong Lake Park on the 3rd, in collaboration with the Bucheon Inter-Cooperative Federation.
Now in its third year, the Ttubergi Walking Festival is an annual walking event hosted by the federation designed to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds—including people with disabilities, people without disabilities, and multicultural residents—to foster mutual understanding and community exchange. The event was attended by notable figures, including Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik, provincial and municipal council members, and various community stakeholders.
The program commenced with opening performances by the "Nanumkkot Chamber Orchestra" (a musical ensemble for individuals with disabilities) and "Yumahoe Saekdongmue" (a saxophone performance group for non-disabled individuals). This was followed by promotional booths showcasing cooperative organizations, an official ceremony, and the main walking event.
More than 200 participants, consisting of people with disabilities, multicultural residents, and local citizens, walked the 1-kilometer course along the scenic trail of Sangdong Lake Park, sharing meaningful conversations and connection along the way.
Choi Seung-joo, President of the Bucheon Inter-Cooperative Federation, remarked, "Marking its third year, this event was a wonderful opportunity for people with disabilities, non-disabled citizens, and immigrants to match paces and become true neighbors. Our cooperatives will continue to take the lead in building a community where everyone can walk and work together."
Seo Jeong-soon, Director of the Job Policy Division at Bucheon City, stated, "The true meaning of today's walk is not about moving fast, but ensuring that no one is left behind and that we all arrive together. We will continue working hand-in-hand with the social solidarity economy to create a Bucheon where everyone can work and live harmoniously without discrimination."
Looking ahead, Bucheon City plans to continuously expand opportunities for diverse citizens to participate through partnerships with social solidarity economy organizations, while spreading core values of community communication and mutual prosperity.
