The representative national bread festival, '2026 Bbang Bbang Day Cheonan,' concluded its two-day schedule on the 18th.

'Experience and Coexistence' Embraced Representative National Bread Festival... Cheonan Bbang Bbang Day Schedule Concludes

This year's festival proved its stature as an experiential complex cultural festival going beyond a simple food consumption event, emphasizing large-scale experience contents and community solidarity.

Co-hosted and co-organized by Cheonan City and the Cheonan City Branch of the Korea Confectionery Association, the festival was held around the Oryunmun Plaza of the Cheonan Sports Complex under the theme "Invitation to Cheonan, the Kingdom of Bread."

At the festival venue, baking experiences featuring active visitor participation were operated. The city organized programs on a scale of 800 teams (4,872 people), nearly double that of last year, offering activities such as making walnut cakes, mini donuts, pizzas, and bear-shaped cup cakes.

Along with this, traditional bread-making programs from 8 overseas countries including Vietnam, China, and the Philippines (344 teams) were operated together, adding exchanges with multicultural members and cultural diversity.

Contents collaborated with students from the Communication Design major at Sangmyung University also drew on-site participation. The 'Bread Passport Stamp Tour,' introduced for the first time this year, was operated in a way that provided bread coupons to participants who completed three missions—purchasing bread, taking certification photos, and following official social networking service (SNS) channels—inducing visitors to explore every corner of the festival venue.

Coexistence programs connecting local small business owners, farms, and corporations took root throughout the festival venue. The bread market, featuring 53 local bakeries, showcased distinctive signature bread and local rice products. In addition, 17 'Farmers' Market' booths selling Cheonan pears, grapes, and walnuts, as well as corporate booths including Namyang Dairy Products, Shinsegae Food, and local startup Innerside, were operated.

In particular, by holding a receipt for purchases of 10,000 won or more at the bread market during the festival period and revisiting participating bakeries from the 19th to the 31st, a 10% discount benefit is provided, connecting the one-time event to consumption in neighborhood commercial districts.

Following the drone light show featuring 1,000 units that embroidered the night sky during the opening ceremony, the 'Happy Baking Bread Concert' by the local disabled art troupes Soundable Arts Troupe Arc and Eulseu was staged on the 18th, delivering a stage of harmony to citizens and tourists.

Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo said, "Many citizens and tourists visited the festival venue to enjoy Cheonan's taste and culture together through bread," adding, "Based on the achievements of solidarity created together by confectionery and bakery businesses, farmers, corporations, and cultural artists, we will continuously develop Bbang Bbang Day into a representative national festival that elevates the city's dignity."
