The final send-off for Dolly Parton—widely known to the public for her voluminous blonde hair and glamorous, rhinestone-adorned outfits—was quiet and simple.

According to U.S. entertainment media outlets including Page Six and Billboard on the 31st (local time), a private funeral attended only by immediate family and friends took place on the 28th at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

Parton was reportedly laid to rest wearing her signature stiletto high heels and a cotton dress.

Her nephew, Bryner Seiver, shared Parton's final wish, saying, "Dolly was a farmer at heart, just like her father. She called me and said, 'I’ve spent my whole life wearing heavy faux jewels, so now I want to rest in a comfortable, beautiful bed stuffed with cotton.'"

Parton was laid to rest beside Carl Dean, her husband of 59 years who passed away last year. Engraved on their gravesite are a photo of the house where Dolly lived as a child, their wedding date, and an illustration of wedding rings.

In accordance with her will, an unreleased song titled "My Place in History" was sealed in a chestnut box, scheduled to be unveiled on January 19, 2046, marking the 100th anniversary of Dolly's birth.

Instead of her hit song "I Will Always Love You," an old traditional hymn is believed to have echoed through the funeral service.

During her lifetime, Parton had named "If We Never Meet Again" in interviews as the song she wanted for her funeral. This is an old country-style hymn that was also played at her father's funeral.

Dolly Parton's younger sister, Stella Parton, paid tribute on social media, writing, "My oldest sister Dolly got her wings this past Tuesday. If anyone went to heaven, you can see that my sister arrived right on time, shining, glowing, and making her presence grand. That’s just my sister's style."

Meanwhile, as fans mourning Parton's passing increased, her signature songs experienced a reverse surge on the Billboard music charts.

Released in 1974, "Jolene" climbed to No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while "I Will Always Love You" charted at No. 27.
