Chungbuk to Open Up a "Colorful World"
Chungbuk Cultural Foundation to host the Cultural Diversity Festival & Arts Education Outcomes Sharing Event from October 31 to November 1
Rich lineup includes performances, exhibitions, global cuisine, and arts education experiences... Participant recruitment opens October 19
Linked events such as exhibitions, forums, and book publication events featuring the theme of the "Era of Migration"

The Chungbuk Cultural Foundation (CEO Kim Kyung-sik) announced that it will host the “2026 Cultural Diversity Festival × Arts Education Outcomes Sharing Event ” for two days, from October 31 to November 1, at Picture Book Garden 1937 and the Chungbuk Provincial Government Culture Plaza 815.

This event is designed for people from diverse cultural backgrounds and traditions to understand and respect differences through arts and culture, and to harmonize together. It aims to allow provincial residents to experience the value of cultural diversity in their daily lives and share the achievements of regional arts education.

On the first day, October 31, the Cultural Diversity Festival will take place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM under the theme of "Colorful Universe." Comparing the way different cultures blend to form a single world to the universe, the program is designed for children and families to easily and engagingly experience the meaning of cultural diversity.

The venue will feature a rich array of participatory programs, including performances and exhibitions reflecting various cultural backgrounds, arts education experiences, and global cuisine. Attendees will be able to experience different cultures up close through hands-on participation rather than just observation.

Applications for the Cultural Diversity Festival will open on October 19 via the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation website and Culture E-Um Chang, and any resident, including children and families, is welcome to participate.

On November 1, starting at 1:00 PM, the Arts Education Outcomes Sharing Event will follow. Arts education organizations and stakeholders who participated in the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation's arts education support projects this year will gather to share their annual activities, achievements, and experiences. The event will feature a cultural arts education forum addressing key issues and challenges in the local arts education field, alongside outcomes exhibitions and panel discussions. Participating organizations will share their field experiences and cases, and discuss future directions for the development of regional arts education.

Connecting Cultural Diversity Through the "Era of Migration": Exhibitions, Forums, and Book Publication Events
In addition, as part of the "2026 Cultural Diversity Base City Chungbuk" project, linked events such as exhibitions, forums, and book publication events highlighting the lives and experiences of migrants will also be held.

First, on October 22 at 3:00 PM, the "Remind Book Publication Event for the Migrant Women's Mind Care Project" will take place at Picture Book Garden 1937. This publication project was promoted through cooperation between the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation and the Seobu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, bringing together 7 migrant women and 2 local artists to capture the lives, emotions, and experiences of migrant women in picture books.

This project is particularly meaningful as the migrant women expressed their stories firsthand and collaborated with local artists throughout the creative process. The publication event will feature the sharing of the picture book production process and reflections from participating creators, along with author presentations and a Q&A session to foster mutual understanding and empathy.
