Gangwon's special autumn created by youth and music... Young musicians step onto the stage of their dreams

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Woo Sang-ho, hereinafter referred to as the "Province") announced that it will hold the "2026 Gangwon Music Festival" around the Gongjicheon Open-Air Theater in Chuncheon from October 30 to 31.

This festival was prepared as part of efforts to translate the on-site opinions—such as expanded performance opportunities and creative support—suggested during the communication meeting between Governor Woo Sang-ho and young musicians residing in Gangwon last September into an actual stage. It realizes the vision of revitalizing the stagnant old downtown area by creating a complex cultural street where youth and art coexist, taking its first step forward through this youth music festival. The province plans to establish it as a representative autumn music festival enjoyed together by local residents and tourists by providing stage opportunities for Gangwon young musicians and things to enjoy on autumn nights for tourists.

The festival features 30 teams of Gangwon young musicians selected through public recruitment and online auditions, presenting performances across various genres. To help the participating youth use this performance as a stepping stone to advance onto larger stages, musical activity support will also be carried out together.

Applications are open from October 6 to 14, and any young musician in the province who meets the eligibility requirements can apply. (Refer to the public notice for detailed information.)

In addition, various side events such as audience participation programs and food trucks will be operated along with the youth musician performances during the event period, and celebratory performances by singer Kim Ki-tae on October 30 and singer Cheetah on October 31 are also prepared.
