Participants are currently being recruited for the 'Night Walk' course connecting Tapdong, Dongmun Market, and Chilseong-ro.

JEJU — Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Provincial Tourism Association announced on October 7 that they will host the "2026 Original Downtown Night Travel 'Sum-Ya Season'" festival for two days from October 17 to 18 around the Tapdong Square area in Jeju City.

This festival was organized to develop night tourism content in Jeju’s original downtown area, attract more tourists, and revitalize local commercial districts.

On the first day of the festival, the "Sum-Ya Night Walk" will take place. The course starts at Tapdong Square, passes through Imhang-ro, Sanji-ro, Dongmun Market (Tamra Cultural Square), and the Chilseong-ro shopping district, and returns to Tapdong Square.

Participants are being recruited on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 2,000 people through "Tamnao," Jeju’s official travel platform. The participation fee is 5,000 KRW, and registrants will receive a welcome gift package containing glowing accessories and bottled water. Those who successfully complete the entire course will receive 10,000 KRW in "Tamnaneun Jeon," Jeju's local currency, on-site.

The opening stage on the first day will feature singer Soyou, followed by performances by singer Jang Min-ho and local Jeju musicians on the second day.

A highlight of this year's festival is the fireworks show, which will light up the Tapdong night sea for 10 minutes from 8:30 PM to 8:40 PM right after the main performances on both days.

In addition, a variety of programs have been prepared, including receipt-based events utilizing purchases made in the Chilseong-ro and Dongmun Market commercial districts, as well as interactive visitor experience programs. These initiatives are designed to encourage festival-goers to support local businesses and foster mutual economic growth.

Meanwhile, due to expected traffic congestion around Tapdong Square during the festival period, the Tourism Association is encouraging visitors to use public transportation where possible.
