Operating an integrated library management system linked with 29 public libraries in the Daejeon region
Recognized for reinforcing inter-regional cooperation projects as a metropolitan representative library

Hanbat Library announced on the 15th that it received the Minister's Award at the "2026 Library Cooperation Merits Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This award is presented in recognition of contributions to library development and the enhancement of user services by establishing cooperative systems among libraries and carrying out various collaborative projects.

As a metropolitan representative library, Hanbat Library has worked to strengthen the cooperative foundation of local libraries by establishing and evaluating regional library policies, supporting public and small libraries, exchanging with libraries of other types, and promoting cooperative projects with local affiliated organizations.

In particular, the library operated an integrated library management system that connects the information resources of 29 public libraries in the Daejeon region, while vitalizing information sharing and practical cooperation among personnel through librarian capacity-building training and seminars across different library types.

In addition, the library laid the foundation to systematically preserve and utilize local knowledge and information resources by promoting local material collection and digital archiving projects in cooperation with local literary groups. It also expanded the scope of library services and broadened citizens' opportunities to enjoy culture through various programs, such as the "Library Membership Card Cultural Facility Discount Service" linked with local cultural facilities, and AI/software education and science reading culture programs organized in collaboration with universities and research institutes.

Kim Hye-jung, Director of Hanbat Library, stated, "This award is the fruit of our efforts to expand library services for citizens through cooperation with local libraries and related organizations," adding, "As a metropolitan representative library, we will continue to strengthen cooperation with regional libraries and steadily pursue various collaborative projects so that all citizens can enjoy books and culture close at hand."
