Over 90 performances to be held across Gangwon Province through October and November

The Gangwon Cultural Foundation (CEO Shin Hyun-sang) is launching the 「Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province is Performing」 campaign to introduce a diverse lineup of performances taking place throughout the province this autumn.

This campaign is held in connection with 「Korea is Performing 2026」, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and managed by the Korea Arts Management Service. In alignment with this national campaign—designed to showcase various performances nationwide and help citizens easily access and enjoy the performing arts—the Gangwon Cultural Foundation will gather and promote performances scheduled across the province from October through November, thereby revitalizing local performance attendance.

During this period, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province will host a rich array of genres, including music, traditional arts, dance, and theater, meeting audiences in regions across the province. A total of over 90 performances will be introduced through this campaign, accessible in various areas such as Chuncheon, Wonju, and Gangneung.

To allow the public to check local performance information at a glance, the Gangwon Cultural Foundation has produced and published the 「Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province is Performing」 guidebook on its official website, containing essential information for viewers, including schedules, venues, and performance details. In particular, to boost interest in the campaign, an event will be held on the Gangwon Cultural Foundation’s official Instagram from Tuesday, the 6th, to Saturday, the 31st.

To participate, individuals can check the program book, select a performance they wish to see this autumn, and leave a comment on the Instagram event post. Through a random draw, 100 participants will be awarded cafe voucher prizes, and the winners will be announced on November 6th (Friday) via the Gangwon Cultural Foundation's Instagram page.

"A wide variety of genre performances are awaiting audiences across Gangwon this autumn," said Shin Hyun-sang, CEO of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation. "We hope this campaign serves as an opportunity for people to discover performances they were previously interested in and personally visit nearby theaters to experience the joy of the performing arts."
