The Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation (CEO Kim Kyung-sik) will hold the City-County Cultural and Arts Organization Collaborative Invitation Exhibition 《4-Channel Translation》 in cooperation with Jecheon City from October 8 (Thursday) to October 25 (Sunday) at the Chungbuk Gallery (2nd floor of Insa Art Center, Seoul).
This exhibition was promoted to shed light on the regional characteristics of local culture and arts, and to expand the stage of activities for competent local artists to Seoul and the metropolitan area. Based on the small and medium-sized city of Jecheon, Chungbuk, four young artists present an experimental stage that newly reinterprets people, emotions, and places that have been passed by carelessly due to familiarity through different "channels" of "media, painting, video, and sculpture."

The four participating artists newly interpret Jecheon with their respective mediums and themes. ▲ Yang Jae-wook presents the 〈Rendering Jecheon〉 series, which captures disappearing urban landscapes such as emptying commercial districts and old structures using 8-channel spatial sound and 3D scanning. ▲ Park Semi exhibits 〈Bogye in the Heart〉, looking into emotions through the character "Bogye," born from her own experience of suffering from atopic dermatitis. ▲ Min Kyung-joo introduces video and installation works that interpret local people and places, such as Jecheon's female artists and Uirimji Reservoir, as fantasy characters. ▲ Lee Jun-woo unveils 〈Twelve Hearts, One Conversation〉, which overlaps human hearts with the symbolism of the twelve zodiac animals while moving between wood sculpture and painting.

As an exhibition-linked program during the exhibition period, an opening ceremony and "Artist Talk" will be held at 3 PM on October 9 (Friday), providing visitors with an opportunity to hear stories about the works directly from the artists.
An official from Jecheon City stated, "This is an occasion to introduce Seoul visitors to the current status of young artists who take root in the region and create their own language despite the topic of regional extinction," adding, "We hope many people will encounter the various channels of Jecheon art."

Furthermore, Kim Kyung-sik, CEO of the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation, remarked, "This invitation exhibition is an occasion to showcase the various aspects and creative capabilities of Chungbuk regional art through the works of four artists based in Jecheon," and added, "We will further strengthen cooperation with city and county cultural and arts organizations to broaden the activity stage for local cultural artists and continuously strive to externally promote the diversity and value of Chungbuk art."
The exhibition can be viewed free of charge from 10 AM to 7 PM, and is closed every Tuesday. Details can be found through the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation website (www.cbartgallery.com) or by contacting the Cultural and Arts Complex Facility Operation Division (☏043-299-9389).
