Transitioned from a "spectator-focused festival" to an "interactive festival," receiving high praise for eco-friendly practices and urban integration.
Surpassing national and linguistic barriers, the "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2026," which transformed the entire city of Cheonan into a giant stage with brilliant dance performances, successfully closed its five-day passionate journey on the 5th.
The city of Cheonan and the Cheonan Cultural Foundation announced that an estimated 992,000 visitors attended the festival, which kicked off on the 1st.

This year's festival received favorable reviews for making a successful transition from a simple spectator-style structure—where people only watched performances on stage—into an "experiential and interactive festival" where citizens could directly breathe and engage with the events on-site.
Various programs maximized the immersion of citizens across the festival grounds, including a silent DJ party enjoyed with wireless headphones, a random play dance where visitors spontaneously formed a dance floor, and a mobile parade of the "Neungso-jeon" utilizing the park's main loop road.

By operating across two locations—connecting the Cheonan Stadium and Cheonan Samgeori Park—the festival successfully dispersed crowds and expanded its economic ripple effect to downtown commercial districts by linking with the Sinbu-dong street parade.
In addition, it established an eco-friendly festival model by settling the use of reusable containers across all food zones and introducing a drone light show that replaced traditional fireworks.

Furthermore, the International Dance Competition featuring 25 teams from 24 countries across five continents, the Cheonan International Street Dance Championship (CIDC) featuring dancers from 16 countries, and the Federation of International Dance Festivals (FIDAF) General Assembly were held with great success, firmly solidifying the city's role as a center for global cultural exchange.
Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo stated, "I would artists from around the world who visited Cheonan to share their passion during the festival. We will continue to discover differentiated interactive contents where citizens play a central role, further cementing Cheonan's status as a world-class city of dance."
