On the 30th, Daejeon Metropolitan City hosted the "12th Daejeon Female Farmers' Harmony Festival" at the Daejeon Agricultural Technology Center. Held under the theme "The Core of Smart Agriculture, Living Improvement Association Opening the Future!!," this year's event was a great success with approximately 400 female farmers and related personnel in attendance.

Hosted by the Korea Living Improvement Daejeon Metropolitan City Federation—a local organization for female farmers—the event featured a smart agriculture farming performance, where participants pledged to take the lead in spreading the practice of ultra-precision agricultural artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In the afternoon, a variety of programs such as a local food and fusion rice cake exhibition, a cheerful sports day, and a harmony concert provided time for members to interact and bond.

Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung stated, "Through this event, I would like to express my gratitude for the dedication of every single female farmer who practically manages both farming and household responsibilities in the field. Daejeon City will foster rural women leaders who can proactively respond to a changing era."

2026 The 12th Daejeon Female Farmers' Harmony Festival

Purpose: To comfort the hard work of female farmers who are practical managers in agricultural fields, boost the pride and self-esteem of female farmers as leaders in society and family, and provide a platform for mutual harmony among members.
Background: Pursuant to Article 3, Paragraph 2 of the 「Act on the Promotion of Support for Female Farmers and Fishermen」, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs designated October 15 as a legal commemorative day in November 2021, holding the first Women Farmers' Day event in 2022. Daejeon City initiated the 「1st Female Farmers' Harmony Festival」 7 years prior in 2016, marking the 12th anniversary of the event this year.
