Youth Battles and e-Sports Heat Up the Sports Complex and Samgeori Park

The ‘Cheonan World Dance Festival 2026’ featured interactive stages where visitors stepped directly onto the stage to dance to the rhythms of K-POP and EDM.
On the 3rd, nighttime interactive programs designed for all generations unfolded simultaneously at the lawn yard of Cheonan Samgeori Park and the main stage area of the Cheonan Sports Complex, heating up the autumn night sky.

At the ‘Random Play Dance’ held in the lawn yard of Cheonan Samgeori Park, 150-plus K-POP tracks played at random while citizens and young people visiting the site danced to the beat on the spot, creating a freeform battle stage.
On the main stage of the Cheonan Sports Complex, the special project performance ‘DANCEFLEX: EDM Heung Night’ took place.

Famous domestic DJ corps including Kazu ShowTime, Bori, Daniel, and Lala took the stage to deliver intense DJing and drag performances, breathing together with the visitors who filled the standing zone.
Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo said, “The heat of the festival, which was dispersed throughout the downtown area during the day, is carrying over into nighttime through light and interactive programs at our two major hubs. I hope citizens and tourists will enjoy Cheonan’s autumn night culture until late in a safe environment.”

Expanding the Dance Floor to Samgeori Park… Broadening the Scope of the World Dance Festival
The ‘Cheonan World Dance Festival 2026’ expanded its stage to Cheonan Samgeori Park for the weekend, spreading the festival’s fever across the entire city.
On the 3rd, the third day of the festival, youth street dance competitions, e-sports rhythm games, and large-scale folk group dances unfolded simultaneously at the special stages of the Cheonan Sports Complex and Cheonan Samgeori Park, shaking up the scene.

At the newly renovated Cheonan Samgeori Park Sunken Plaza, which joined as a festival venue, the ‘Street Dance Paldo Showdown’ was held, featuring youth representatives from 16 cities and provinces nationwide.
Designed to promote cultural exchange between regions and discover next-generation dancers, the tournament was conducted in a 5-member team tournament battle format. Spectacular freestyle moves poured out to the beat drew cheers from the audience.

In the lawn yard area of Samgeori Park, the roving musical ‘Neungsojeon’, which modernly reinterprets Cheonan’s Neungso folktale, held a street parade. The witty performances of street theater actors interacting eye-to-eye with the audience continued along the park walking paths, offering weekend visitors a unique source of entertainment.
At the indoor tennis court of the Cheonan Sports Complex, the ‘Pump It Up World Championship’, an immersive e-sports competition combining rhythm games and dance, was held. Domestic and international powerhouses who fought through fierce preliminaries were divided into master and rookie divisions, displaying dazzling footwork that heightened the audience’s immersion.

On the main stage of the Sports Complex, the 1st preliminary group A contest of the ‘International Dance Competition’ took place. A total of 13 teams, including the Cheonan City Dance Company alongside Slovakia, Panama, and Greece, competed, presenting stages adding modern creative touches to their respective countries' traditional dances.
Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo stated, “For the weekend, we have arranged programs transcending generations and borders at both the downtown Sports Complex and Samgeori Park, which holds historical sentiment. I hope you will enjoy Cheonan’s diverse dance floors seamlessly by using the free shuttle buses connecting both event venues.”
