- Delegation led by Chief of Staff visits Laos from May 5–8 under Special Appointment by Governor Park Soo-hyun

Chungcheongnam-do is actively working to deepen practical exchanges and cooperation with Laos by discussing sector-specific collaborative measures in areas such as labor, agriculture, and public safety.

The provincial government announced that it dispatched a delegation led by Kim Min-soo, Chief of Staff to the Governor, to Laos from May 5 to 8.

This visit was carried out under a special appointment by Governor Park Soo-hyun, aiming to explore directions for exchange and cooperation centered on key pending issues across various fields.

The delegation met with high-ranking officials, including ministers and vice ministers of the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Ministry of Public Security, to discuss major agendas by sector.

In the labor sector, the delegation examined challenges related to the allocation of seasonal workers and on-site support processes, while discussing institutional improvement measures. In the public safety sector, they reviewed current cooperation in public security and discussed future implementation directions.

In addition, the delegation visited the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Laos to listen to insights on local political situations and cooperative measures, and built a foundation for communication by meeting with the Korean Association in Laos to understand local conditions.

Based on the discussions held during this visit, the province plans to continue follow-up consultations by sector and discover and promote concrete cooperative tasks.

A provincial official stated, "Through this visit, we sought practical cooperation measures that reflect the local demands and conditions of Laos. We will continue to strengthen exchanges between the two regions, starting with follow-up consultations in each sector."
