Submissions open via the Foundation's website until November 15, with a total prize pool of 8.7 million KRW

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation (acting CEO Lee Han-soo) announced that it will host the "2026 Chungnam Confucian Culture Photo and Video Contest" for all citizens from October 14 (Wednesday) to November 15 (Sunday). The initiative aims to unearth hidden Confucian cultural resources across the province and secure attractive tourism promotional content.
As part of the "Chungnam Travel Festa," the contest is themed "Finding Chungnam's Hidden Confucian Heritage and Culture." It is designed to capture the charm of Chungnam’s Confucian heritage and its historical, cultural, and tourism resources through photography and videography. Notably, it carries significant meaning as participants directly discover tourism content and promote the unique appeal of local tourism resources.
Eligible subjects include traditional Confucian cultural resources located in Chungnam—such as local Confucian schools (hyanggyo and seowon), old traditional houses (gotaek), and traditional pavilions—as well as natural and cultural resources linked to Confucian culture, such as scenic valleys (gugok) and mountain landscapes. In addition, any historical, cultural, or tourism resource that can express the traditional values and regional characteristics of Chungnam is eligible for submission.
The contest is divided into two categories: photos and videos, open to any citizen of the Republic of Korea. Participants may submit one entry per person for each category. Videos must be between 30 seconds and 1 minute in length. While dual submissions across both categories are permitted, duplicate awards are not allowed.
The total prize pool amounts to 8.7 million KRW. For the photo category, awards include: ▲ Grand Prize of 1 million KRW (1 winner), ▲ Excellence Awards of 500,000 KRW (3 winners), and ▲ Encouragement Awards of 200,000 KRW (5 winners). For the video category, awards include: ▲ Grand Prize of 2 million KRW (1 winner), ▲ Excellence Awards of 1 million KRW (2 winners), and ▲ Encouragement Awards of 400,000 KRW (3 winners). Winning entries will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation covering artistic quality, usability, originality, and public appeal. The selected works will later be used as core promotional content across the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation's website, social media, promotional booklets, and exhibitions to showcase the appeal of Chungnam's Confucian culture and regional tourism.
The submission period runs from October 14 (Wednesday) until November 15 (Sunday) at 11:59 PM. Those wishing to participate can submit their application forms and entries online via the announcement page on the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation website's "Contests and Bids" board. Detailed information can be found in the official announcement, and participants can also access it directly by scanning the QR code on the contest poster.
Choi Dong-seok, Head of the Tourism Business Division at the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "Through this contest, we hope to discover new charms of Chungnam's Confucian cultural resources through the eyes of residents and tourists, and expand them into tourism promotion content. We look forward to the strong interest and participation of many people who love the history, culture, and beautiful natural scenery of Chungnam."
