Daejeon City selects 3 sites reflecting quality management and contribution to the local economy

Daejeon City has selected three locations as the "2026 Daejeon Metropolitan City Best Construction Sites" following a comprehensive evaluation of overall construction practices, including quality, safety, and contribution to the local economy.

The selected exemplary construction sites are:

-The Seongnam-dong District 1 Redevelopment Project Construction Site in Dong-gu
-The Daeheung-dong District 2 Redevelopment Project Construction Site in Jung-gu
-The Doan District 2-2 Block 2 Housing Construction Project Construction Site in Yuseong-gu

In early October, Daejeon City received nominations for eight private construction sites from autonomous districts. The final winners were determined through document reviews and on-site evaluations by the "Best Construction Site Selection Review Committee," which consisted of experts from construction and civil engineering societies and associations.

The Seongnam-dong District 1 and Daeheung-dong District 2 redevelopment project sites received high marks in the construction and quality management categories. Meanwhile, the Doan District 2-2 Block 2 housing construction site earned top scores for its safety management system and contribution to the local economy, notably demonstrated by its high rate of subcontracting with local businesses.

The awards for the best construction sites, along with the previously announced "Architecture Awards," will be presented to the construction companies and supervisors at the opening ceremony of the 18th Daejeon Urban Architecture Festival 2026, scheduled for October 30.

An official from Daejeon City stated, "Along with recognizing completed buildings through the Architecture Awards, selecting 'Best Construction Sites' that evaluate responsibility and quality during the construction process reflects our efforts to improve the overall quality of urban architecture. We will continue to evaluate and discover exemplary sites to establish a sound construction culture that citizens can truly experience."
