Chungnam Province Offers Up to 50% Interest Subsidy on Jeonse Loans for Young Adults

The provincial government opens applications for the "2026 Youth Housing Lease Deposit Interest Support" program for new applicants

In an effort to ease the housing cost burden for young adults and help them secure stable living conditions, Chungnam Province announced the recruitment of new applicants for the "2026 Youth Housing Lease Deposit Interest Support Program."

The provincial government announced on the 7th that applications will be accepted through the government portal "Subsidy 24" (Bozogeum 24) on Government 24 from the 12th to the 26th, with plans to select approximately 330 beneficiaries.

This program subsidizes a portion of the loan interest for young people who use the Housing and Urban Fund's Jeonse (lump-sum housing lease) loan products.

Eligible applicants are homeless young adults aged 19 to 39 (born between January 1, 1986, and December 31, 2007) who reside within the province as of the public notice date. Applicants must currently use one of the following Jeonse loan products: the Beomok Jeonse Loan (including the youth-dedicated version), the newlyweds-dedicated Jeonse loan, or the newborn-special Bumjimok loan*. *For users of the newborn-special Bumjimok loan, the combined household income of the couple must be 100 million won or less.

Selected young adults will receive support covering 30% to 50% of the loan interest they paid since January of this year. Those belonging to the second-to-lowest income bracket, youth preparing for independence, newlyweds (within 7 years of marriage), and young parents with minor children will receive 50%, while other eligible youth will receive 30%. Default or overdue interest charges are excluded from support.

The support will be provided a total of 4 times (over 2 years) on a semi-annual basis, with the support period extended by an additional year (once) if a beneficiary gives birth during the support period.

This year, the interest paid for 11 months from January to November will be paid out in a lump sum in December.

Applications can be submitted online exclusively through Government 24's "Subsidy 24" starting at 9:00 AM on the 12th until 6:00 PM on the 26th, requiring membership registration and identity verification.

Regardless of the loan type, beneficiaries will be selected in the following order:

  1. Second-to-lowest income bracket and youth preparing for independence (Priority 1)
    2. Newlywed and parenting youth (Priority 2)
       3. Other youth (Priority 3)

In the event of a tie within the same priority rank, priority will be given to residents living in population-declining areas designated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety—specifically Gongju, Boryeong, Nonsan, Geumsan, Buyeo, Seocheon, Cheongyang, Yesan, and Taean. If a tie still persists, selection will be determined based on the earlier timestamp of final submission on Government 24.

Selection results will be announced after 5:00 PM on the 27th of next month via the notices section on the Chungnam Youth Portal and through individual notifications (requires consent to receive Government 24 alerts).

"This program is a practical form of support that alleviates the burden of Jeonse loan interest, helping young people reduce housing worries and focus on their dreams and careers," said Han Mi-ra, Head of the Youth Policy Division at the provincial government. "We will continue to listen to the voices of young adults and drive necessary policies so they can stay and grow in Chungnam."
