Daejeon City will implement a rider delivery support program starting April 1st to support the expansion of online sales channels for small business owners in traditional markets and shopping districts.
This support program has been newly established to respond to changes in the online distribution environment and alleviate the burden on small business owners who are struggling with high delivery fees.
Eligible participants are stores belonging to the merchant associations of 65 traditional markets, shopping districts, and neighborhood-type shopping streets in Daejeon. The program will provide delivery fee support of 2,000 KRW per order, up to a maximum of 100,000 KRW per month, for online and offline rider deliveries. Stores wishing to participate can apply through the dedicated website (rider.djbea.or.kr / expected to open in April).
For inquiries, please contact the Small Business Policy Team at the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency (☎042-380-3082).
Kwon Kyung-min, Director-General of the Economy Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, "In an era where consumer trends are rapidly changing, traditional markets and shopping districts must also develop competitiveness through new methods. We hope that this project will alleviate the real burden on small business owners and serve as an opportunity to find vitality in the online market as well." He added, "Daejeon City will continue to listen to the voices on the ground and implement customized support policies that can add warmth to the local economy."
