Leading companies from Paraguay's food and beverage industry successfully showcased the excellence of their national products at 'Food Taipei Mega Shows 2025,' held from June 26 to 29, 2025, at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan. At this event, recognized as one of Asia's most prestigious food and beverage exhibitions, Paraguayan companies garnered international attention with their innovative products and exceptional quality, laying an important foundation for their expansion into the Asian market.

The Paraguayan Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) announced that nine domestic companies participated in the exhibition with the support of Rediex (Paraguayan Export and Investment Promotion Agency) and in collaboration with the Embassy of Taiwan in Paraguay. The MIC emphasized that this delegation "presented the quality, diversity, and innovation of the Paraguayan food sector to a highly specialized international audience."

Companies from various sectors participated in the exhibition, including Alpacasa, Cacao Lab, Emperatriz, Minerva Foods, Nutrex, Superfoods Paraguay, TGL Food, UPISA, and Villa Franca SA, showcasing their products and expertise. The MIC stated, "This Paraguayan delegation faithfully represented the nation's efforts for export growth and its determination to position excellent products in the Asian market."

Notably, Villa Franca SA received accolades for the outstanding quality and unique composition of its peanut products, which were presented on the main stage. Minerva Foods generated an enthusiastic response from attendees through its seasoned meat tasting event, proving the excellence of Paraguayan meat. As one of the largest meat processing companies in South America, Minerva Foods further strengthened its presence in the Asian market through its participation in this exhibition.

Nutrex, which operates in over 70 countries, marked a significant milestone with its first international exhibition participation by running its own booth at this event. Nutrex boasts a diverse product portfolio, including grains and oilseeds, with the Taiwanese market being one of Nutrex's key target markets. Through its participation in this exhibition, Nutrex expects to expand its distribution network in Taiwan and the broader Asian market.

Furthermore, Emperatriz and Ñandeté attracted significant interest with their innovative products embodying a unique Paraguayan identity. Emperatriz internationally debuted its 'Cassava Spirit,' the world's only distilled spirit based on mandioca (cassava), matured with delicate herbs from native Paraguayan plants. This innovative alcoholic beverage received high interest from international buyers.

Ñandeté intrigued the Asian market with its revitalizing infusions made from natural ingredients such as moringa, ginger, citron leaves, and boldo leaves. These teas feature exotic and unique flavors, catering to Asian consumers' growing interest in health and well-being.

Cacao Lab captivated visitors with its functional chocolate called 'Kuña Mbarete.' This innovative product focuses on women's health, garnering attention as a healthy dessert alternative. Kuña Mbarete was recognized for its value as a functional food, opening up new market possibilities.

Beyond the exhibition, Paraguayan companies conducted B2B meetings with potential buyers, and additional commercial missions, including visits to local companies and distribution centers, are planned after the expo. These direct interactions will help explore opportunities for deeper penetration into the Asian market, characterized by its scale, demands, and the reliability of business relationships.

At 'Food Taipei 2024,' over $7 million in potential business outcomes were reported, with particularly high interest from buyers in South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam. This firmly demonstrates the strategic value of 'Food Taipei' for the internationalization of the Paraguayan food industry. Paraguayan companies are expected to further solidify their position in the Asian market through this exhibition and drive the continued growth of their domestic food industry.
