The Undersecretariat of Air Transport of the Ministry of Economy recently announced, through Provision 12/2025 published in the Official Gazette, the official approval for 'Handyway Cargo S.A.' to provide general airport ground handling and ramp services. Handyway Cargo S.A. is a company with over 20 years of extensive experience in the air transport sector across South America, including Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It has earned recognition for its expertise in handling cargo for major airlines such as LATAM, JetSMART, Flybondi, and Avianca Cargo. With this approval for ground handling services in Argentina, Handyway Cargo S.A. will expand beyond its existing cargo handling specialization to offer a wide range of ramp and ground handling services, including aircraft support, baggage handling, and crew support. This is expected to inject new vitality into the Argentine aviation market, while also fostering healthy competition among existing service providers, leading to improved service quality and increased cost efficiency.

 
Strict Scrutiny Passed: Legal and Technical Requirements Met

Handyway Cargo S.A.'s acquisition of this license signifies that it has met all the strict procedures and standards required by Argentine aviation regulations. The company formally applied for the license in accordance with Article 29 bis of the Aeronautical Code (Law 17,285) and confirmed compliance with all technical, operational, and financial requirements stipulated by current law. Specifically, it was confirmed that the company adhered to the Market Access Regulation for Air Commerce, approved by Decree 599 of 2024.

This approval was granted in accordance with the specific authorization issuance procedure outlined in Resolution 49/2024 of the Undersecretariat of Transport and received a positive assessment from the National Directorate of Air Transport, under the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC). ANAC ultimately verified Handyway Cargo's technical and financial capabilities in accordance with Article 105 of the Aeronautical Code. The license is valid for 15 years and will be automatically renewed as long as operational safety standards are maintained. This demonstrates the Argentine government's commitment to providing a stable operational foundation for reliable operators from a long-term perspective, aiming for continuous development and safety in the aviation industry.
