Cheonan City announced on the 8th that it will promote the ‘2025 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Supply Project’ to improve air quality and leap forward as a leading carbon-neutral city.
This year's supply target is a total of 50 vehicles, including 5 for vulnerable groups, households with multiple children, and first-time car buyers, and 45 for general citizens.
Eligible applicants are citizens aged 18 or older, or companies, corporations, or organizations residing in Cheonan City for at least 30 days prior to the application date. Individuals and sole proprietors can apply for one vehicle, while companies, corporations, and organizations can apply for up to two vehicles. A subsidy of 32.5 million KRW will be provided per vehicle.
The application period is from the 10th of this month until the budget is exhausted. Citizens wishing to apply for the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle subsidy can visit a car dealership, complete the application form and required documents, and the dealership will submit the application through the Electric Vehicle Purchase Subsidy System (www.ev.or.kr). Eligible recipients will be determined based on the order of vehicle shipment and registration.
The city has supplied 315 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles from 2021 to last year, and the Cheonan Hydrogen Refueling Station (158 Beonyeong-ro, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si) operates year-round for 11 hours a day, from 9 am to 8 pm.
In the private sector, hydrogen refueling stations are also operated at Manghyang Service Area (southbound) and Ibjang Geobong Grape Service Area (northbound) on the Gyeongbu Expressway.
For more details, please refer to the public notice on the Cheonan City website (News & Announcements - Public Announcements/Notices) or contact the Cheonan City Climate and Energy Division (041-521-3477).
A city official stated, "We will continue to promote the distribution of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and plan to expand the introduction of hydrogen buses, a public transportation means frequently used by citizens. We ask for the great interest and participation of citizens in the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle supply project."
