Manila, Philippines – Global hospitality leader Hilton is bolstering its presence in the Philippines, accelerating its expansion strategy in the Southeast Asian market. The company recently announced the signing of agreements for two new Hilton Garden Inn hotels: the Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City and the Hilton Garden Inn Cebu Mactan. These additions will increase Hilton's operational hotel count in the Philippines from three to five and mark the debut of the Hilton Garden Inn brand in the country.
This announcement aligns with Hilton's broader strategy to expand its focused service portfolio across Southeast Asia. The company aims to more than triple its Hilton Garden Inn presence in the region from the current 12 properties to over 40 in the coming years. Hilton currently operates a total of 102 hotels across Southeast Asia.
Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City
The Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City is slated to be located in the heart of Quezon City's central business district, one of the largest and most populous cities in Metro Manila. Part of a mixed-use development, the hotel will feature 210 guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, over 450 square meters of meeting space, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center. It will also benefit from direct connectivity to the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and close proximity to key attractions such as the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The hotel aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers, as well as attendees of the various events held in Quezon City, which is increasingly becoming a commercial and cultural hub within the metropolitan area.
Mikka Maglanque, President of MegaGlobal Investment Corporation, stated, "As the Philippines becomes an increasingly attractive tourist destination, our partnership with Hilton allows us to capitalize on this exciting growth opportunity. The upcoming Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City will not only support the growth of the Philippine tourism industry but also provide travelers with more valuable accommodation options to experience the charm and vibrancy of Manila."
Hilton Garden Inn Cebu Mactan
The Hilton Garden Inn Cebu Mactan will be situated on Mactan Island, off the coast of Cebu City, and is approximately 25 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The hotel will offer 151 guest rooms, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a total of 350 square meters of event space. Its location within a mixed-use development will also provide guests with easy access to various retail and dining options.
Mactan Island serves as a gateway to Cebu's marine tourism attractions and neighboring islands. The new hotel is expected to serve a diverse range of travelers, including business clients, leisure visitors, and transit passengers.
Both hotels will participate in Hilton Honors, Hilton’s global loyalty program. Members will have access to exclusive booking benefits and flexible payment options.
These developments signal Hilton’s continued commitment to expanding its mid-scale hotel market presence across Southeast Asia while supporting the growth of local tourism industries within the Philippines.
Sherwin Uy, CEO of Primeworld Land Holdings Inc., said, "Cebu’s vibrant culture, stunning natural landscapes, and thriving economy make it an attractive destination for travelers worldwide. Our partnership with Hilton reflects our commitment to elevate Cebu’s tourism sector and enhance the guest experience through high-quality focused service accommodations."
Hilton’s Existing Presence in the Philippines: Hilton currently operates three hotels in Manila, Philippines: Conrad Manila, Hilton Manila, and Suites at Hilton Manila.
Philippines Tourism Industry Overview: The Philippines Department of Tourism reported 5.45 million international tourist arrivals in 2024, marking a significant increase from the previous year. The government is actively promoting the tourism industry as a key driver of economic growth. Cebu, in particular, is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches and diverse marine activities.
Focused Service Hotel: Unlike full-service hotels, focused service hotels concentrate on providing essential services and amenities for an efficient stay at a reasonable price. Hilton Garden Inn is Hilton's flagship focused service brand.
Hilton Honors Program: Hilton’s free guest loyalty program that offers members benefits such as earning and redeeming points for stays and other perks, exclusive discounts, and digital check-in.
Hilton's expansion in the Philippine market is expected to provide more diverse accommodation options to meet the increasing tourism demand and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.
