Cheonan City is recruiting startups to participate in the 3rd cohort of the ‘Future Unicorn C-STAR’ program from April 7th to 21st.
The city is promoting the ‘Cheonan Future Unicorn C-STAR’ fostering project in collaboration with five startup support organizations to discover promising startups with high growth potential and provide opportunities for them to grow into future unicorns.
This project is a specialized initiative to create a startup ecosystem in Cheonan City, providing customized support by identifying the needs of each promising startup.
Through the 1st and 2nd cohorts last year, 14 companies were selected, and by connecting them with investment firms, providing proof-of-concept support, and securing sales channels, they successfully attracted 24.4 billion KRW in investment for 10 companies.
Significant achievements include ▲KOSDAQ listing (Xenics), ▲Winning the CES Innovation Award for two consecutive years (Wirobotics), ▲Winning the Robot World Awards Innovation Award (Poweraut Robotics), ▲Winning the Grand Prize at the International Women's Invention Exposition of Korea (Waterbation), and ▲Selection of payload for Space Verification Satellite No. 2 (Insera Solution).
Any technology-based startup within 7 years of establishment with its headquarters, branch, or research institute located in Cheonan City as of the announcement date can participate. Approximately five companies will be selected after evaluation.
Application forms can be found on the city's website.
Yoon Joong-gil, Head of the Future Strategy Division, said, "We hope that startups with a desire for growth will take on the challenge of the Cheonan Future Unicorn C-STAR and enjoy many benefits. We also plan to recruit the 4th cohort in the second half of the year, so we support the continuous challenges and passion of startups."
