Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province hosted a 3-day, 2-night invitation event from October 21 to 23 for 91 nurses who were dispatched to Germany, marking the 60th anniversary of the milestone.

This event was organized to express gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the dispatched workers—who were sent to Germany during difficult times and contributed greatly to the economic development and national prestige of South Korea and Gangwon—as well as to promote the provincial administration.

On October 21, the first day of the event, a welcoming ceremony was held at the Provincial Office to convey feelings of gratitude and welcome to the visiting delegation. In particular, through a provincial administration presentation and video screening, the delegation was introduced to the major policies and vision of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, providing an opportunity to understand the local administration.

In addition, over the 3-day, 2-night itinerary, the delegation visited major cultural and industrial facilities and tourist attractions in Chuncheon and Wonju, including the Kim You-jung Literary Village, Wonju Hanji Theme Park, Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Agency, and Wonju Folk Flea Market, directly experiencing Gangwon's history, culture, and industrial development.

Kim Young-soo, Administrative Vice Governor, stated, “I extend my deepest respect and gratitude to the dispatched workers for your dedication, as you overcame hardships in a distant foreign land to strive for South Korea's economic development and national status enhancement. I hope you can directly feel the vision of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province through this visit and fully enjoy its beautiful nature and culture.”

The province expects that this invitation event will serve as an opportunity to widely publicize the provincial administration to the Korean community in Germany, and plans to further strengthen the foundation for continuous exchange and cooperation with the overseas Korean community moving forward.
