Cheonan City announced on the 7th that it has issued an administrative order restricting activities to prevent wildfires, following the recent issuance of a ‘Severe’ level wildfire disaster national crisis alert.
According to the administrative order, entry into mountains, incineration, and smoking in areas adjacent to forests are all prohibited throughout Cheonan City.
This measure takes into account the dangerous situation where even a small spark or smoke could spread into a large wildfire due to strong winds and dry weather. Violators of these restrictions will be subject to strict punishment according to relevant laws.
A city official emphasized, “A moment’s carelessness can lead to a major disaster,” and stressed, “As the risk of wildfires increases, the active cooperation of citizens is very important.”
They added, “We will strengthen crackdowns on administrative orders throughout the city,” and stated, “We will do our best to protect the safety of citizens and prevent large wildfires through this administrative order.”
