Daejeon Fire Headquarters Holds the 12th Citizen CPR Competition -
On April 7th, the Daejeon Fire Headquarters held the 12th Citizen Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Competition at the 119 Citizen Experience Center in Boksu-dong, Seo-gu.
This competition was organized to widely promote the importance of CPR and cultivate practical skills. A total of 54 participants in 10 teams, including students and office workers from the Daejeon area, engaged in a passionate contest.
In this competition, participants were evaluated on a series of emergency procedures, from discovering a cardiac arrest patient to performing CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Key evaluation items included ▲situation setting and story development ▲discovery of a cardiac arrest patient and request for help ▲consciousness check and chest compressions ▲use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
In particular, the top-performing team will represent Daejeon Metropolitan City at the National CPR Competition hosted by the National Fire Agency in May, competing at an even higher level.
Kang Dae-hoon, head of the Daejeon Fire Headquarters, stated, "CPR is an essential skill that saves precious lives in emergency situations," and added, "We hope that this competition will further spread the importance of CPR."
Meanwhile, the Daejeon Fire Headquarters operates year-round CPR experience training at 5 fire stations and the 119 Citizen Experience Center to strengthen citizens' emergency response capabilities. It also strives to disseminate and activate CPR by awarding 'Heart Saver' certificates to paramedics and citizens who have saved lives through CPR.
