KOTRA and South Africa Fully Embark on Green Hydrogen Cooperation: Expanding Partnerships Through KSP

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (Acting Minister Lee Hyeong-il) and KOTRA (President Kang Gyeong-seong) held the "KSP South Africa Green Hydrogen Industry Development Plan Mid-Term Reporting Session" and the "Hydrogen Project Partnership Seminar" in Seoul on July 4th as part of the '2024-2025 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP)' for South Africa. This event was organized as a comprehensive cooperation program, combining policy advice and technology exchange in the hydrogen sector, linked with the industrial cooperation seminar held the previous day and the domestic industrial site training scheduled from July 7th to 9th.
On July 3rd, the day before the mid-term reporting session, the "Korea-South Africa Green Hydrogen Materials, Parts, and Equipment Industry Cooperation Seminar" was held in Seoul, hosted by the Korea Hydrogen Alliance (Chairman Kim Jae-hong). Domestic hydrogen material, parts, and equipment companies and energy-related public institutions attended, sharing technology trends in the hydrogen industry and discussing cooperation possibilities with the South African delegation.
The mid-term reporting session on July 4th was attended by five South African government agencies: the Department of Electricity and Energy, the Department of Science and Technology Innovation, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the Coega Economic Development Corporation, and the National Energy Development Institute. On the Korean side, Ahn Il-hwan, Senior Advisor for KSP South Africa, along with representatives from Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and KOTRA, participated to share progress on the project and discuss future directions.
