Eco-friendly accessories appeared at the ‘2024 Seoul International Jewelry & Accessories Show’ held at COEX in Samseong-dong.
The eco-friendly accessories introduced by ‘CetaSilver’ are products made by upcycling waste glass and turning it into jewelry.
After washing and crushing the collected waste glass bottles, they are reborn as jewelry and accessory products by going through formulation, two firing processes, and ball milling.
Here, ‘TAPis’, a jewelry structure that users can customize, was applied. By introducing a spiral structure based on the concept of bolts and nuts, various types of combinations between jewelry were possible.
A Cera Silver official said, “The existing bonding structure can cause jewelry to fall off, which can reduce trust in the brand.” He added, “Through the customization structure, jewelry can be bonded more tightly and jewelry can be customized as the user wants.” “It will be possible to improve satisfaction while designing,” he said.
Regarding the reason for making waste glass upcycle accessories, he said, “A lot of the glass we collect and discharge cannot be recycled and is landfilled.” He added, “We found out that the landfill was saturated with over 100,000 pieces of waste glass. “Afterwards, I decided to create upcycled accessories that could contribute to the environment.”
He continued, “Customers are also surprised when we introduce them as jewelry made from waste glass,” adding, “We also released a collaborative product designed by members of the girl group TRI.BE.”
At the same time, he said, “Cera Silver plans to focus on technological advancement to develop upcycled products of better quality than existing jewelry.”
Meanwhile, this exhibition will be held at COEX Hall A until the 22nd.
