JEJU ISLAND – The Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) is calling on businesses and organizations to participate in its 'Open Tourism Festa,' a month-long initiative aimed at making Jeju Island a more accessible destination for all. The call for partners will remain open until March 21st, with the festival itself scheduled to run from April 7th to May 6th, coinciding with the Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 20th).
The 'Open Tourism Festa' seeks to improve tourism accessibility for vulnerable groups, including individuals with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant women, families with young children, and anyone facing challenges in travel due to limitations in mobility, access to facilities, or information.
Key Programs:
Open Tourism Concert (Opening Event): A celebratory event to kick off the festival.
Invited Jeju Tours for Vulnerable Groups: Providing opportunities for individuals from vulnerable groups to experience Jeju's attractions.
Promotions in Partnership with Businesses and Organizations: Offering discounts and special services to make travel more accessible.
Call for Partners:
The JTO is seeking partners in various sectors, including:
Shopping
Transportation
Accommodation
Food and Beverage
Experiences
Convenience Services
Participating businesses and organizations will offer discounts, gifts, and accessible services to travelers with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. In return, the JTO will promote their contributions through various online channels, including the Visit Jeju website (www.visitjeju.net), highlighting their social responsibility efforts.
"The Open Tourism Festa is an important step towards creating a barrier-free environment for all tourists," said a representative from the Jeju Tourism Organization. "We encourage businesses and organizations to join us in making Jeju Island a truly welcoming destination for everyone."
This initiative builds on the success of the 'Jeju Barrier-Free Travel Week,' held last April, which provided improved travel experiences for vulnerable groups visiting Jeju Island. The JTO is committed to making Jeju a leading destination for accessible tourism.
