Chungcheong Region to Launch Ultra-Mega Regional Job Cooperation Based on Growth Industries

Ministry of Employment and Labor and 4 Chungcheong Local Governments Launch "Naeil-Eum Project" to Explore Policy Directions


 
Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Cho Sang-ho), alongside Daejeon, North Chungcheong Province, and South Chungcheong Province, has stepped up cooperation to expand ultra-mega regional job opportunities that connect industries and talent beyond regional boundaries.

On the 1st, the four Chungcheong local governments—including Sejong City—along with the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), held the launching ceremony and a policy seminar for the "Chungcheong Region Growth Industry Naeil-Eum Project" at the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Office's conference room.

Selected in a MOEL public contest last April, the Chungcheong Region Growth Industry Naeil-Eum Project is an ultra-mega regional employment initiative in which the four local governments link and support talent cultivation, employment and settlement, and corporate growth, centering on the bio-health and future mobility industries.

The event was attended by some 100 participants, including Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Young-hoon, Sejong Mayor Cho Sang-ho, other heads of Chungcheong local governments, experts in the employment and industrial sectors, and officials from related organizations.

The event proceeded in the order of a policy seminar to explore development directions for the Chungcheong region's growth industries and ultra-mega regional job policies, followed by the sharing of the project vision and a launch ceremony.

In particular, the policy seminar featured expert discussions on concrete job policy directions to link regional growth industries with talent across administrative borders.

At the subsequent launching ceremony, participants shared the vision and implementation direction of the Chungcheong Region Growth Industry Naeil-Eum Project and reinforced their commitment to cooperation for ultra-mega regional jobs through a commemorative ceremony.

Currently, the four local governments are pursuing detailed projects such as ▲ supporting the concurrent growth of companies and talent, ▲ providing employment services including tailored job fairs for Chungcheong growth industries, and ▲ supporting internships linked to industrial infrastructure.

Building on this launch, Sejong City plans to closely continue cooperation to ease labor shortages in regional companies and expand job opportunities for job seekers by strengthening industrial and human resource connections among the Chungcheong local governments.

"As corporate activities and talent mobility are already taking place beyond regional boundaries, we aim to further solidify inter-regional cooperation for ultra-mega regional job policies," said Sejong Mayor Cho Sang-ho. "We will cooperate to ensure that this project serves as an opportunity to seamlessly connect the industrial and talent strengths of the Chungcheong region."
