SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – LG Electronics (LG) has announced its successful deployment of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at a massive new logistics center in Singapore. Located in the rapidly developing Tuas industrial and logistics hub, the facility boasts an expansive floor area of 59,800 square meters, equivalent to approximately nine football fields.

LG supplied its high-efficiency commercial system air conditioner, the "Multi V i," to meet the demanding requirements of this ambitious project. The Tuas area is currently undergoing significant transformation, highlighted by the development of the world's largest automated port terminal, solidifying its position as a key logistics gateway.

The new logistics center has set its sights on achieving the prestigious "Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy" certification from Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA). This highest rating in the Green Mark program underscores the facility's commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. LG Electronics emphasized its unique ability to meet all stringent customer specifications by significantly enhancing product performance to contribute to the building's ultra-low energy consumption targets.

A key feature of the supplied "Multi V i" system is its integration of a high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) engine. This intelligent system enables active and adaptive climate control, precisely tailored to optimize energy savings. Furthermore, LG has incorporated high-efficiency inverter compressors and significantly increased the heat exchanger area, which regulates air temperature, by over 10% compared to previous models. These enhancements contribute to a remarkable energy efficiency improvement of up to 33%.

Recognizing Singapore's coastal environment, LG also implemented robust anti-corrosion measures to protect the HVAC system from the damaging effects of salt-laden air, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.

This significant contract serves as a strategic foothold for LG Electronics as it aims to accelerate the expansion of its commercial HVAC business across Southeast Asia. The company is actively pursuing localized HVAC business opportunities, aligning with the sustainable urban development initiatives being implemented by major Southeast Asian economies such as Indonesia and Malaysia.

Lee Jae-sung, head of LG Electronics' ES Business Division, commented, "The success of our HVAC business in diverse markets hinges on our ability to provide localized solutions. This project in Singapore demonstrates our commitment to understanding and meeting specific regional needs. We will continue to innovate and advance customized HVAC solutions that cater to the unique characteristics of different regions and customer requirements, thereby creating new business opportunities and enhancing our overall competitiveness."
