Paracas, Peru – The Port of Paracas has taken a significant stride in bolstering Peru's agro-industrial trade with the inauguration of a new refrigerated shipping service for perishable goods. As part of the 'Uvas x el Sur' (Grapes for the South) campaign, this initiative aims to streamline the export of one of the country's primary commodities.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced that the first of four weekly vessels has already set sail. These ships have the capacity to transport over 4,500 tons of grapes to the United States each week.

The newly introduced Andes Express Service offers a direct route from Paracas-Pisco to the East Coast of the United States, docking at the Port of Gloucester, New Jersey, located near Philadelphia, the primary destination for Peruvian fruits in the country.

This innovative service provides a secure and reliable transportation option for perishable goods like grapes. In the future, it can be expanded to accommodate other fruits such as blueberries, mandarins, oranges, and avocados.
