INCHEON, Gyeyang-gu – In a significant move to foster social participation and strengthen the self-reliance of multicultural women, Gyeyang-gu signed a comprehensive business agreement on May 26 at the Gyeyang-gu Office conference room. The collaborative pact involves the Gyeyang Women's New Job Center, Gyeyang Family Center, and Gyeyang Women's Hall, establishing a robust network to provide integrated and sustainable support for multicultural residents.

This initiative comes as South Korea's multicultural population continues to grow, with a significant increase in marriage migrants. While these individuals contribute to the diversity of Korean society, many multicultural women face unique challenges, including navigating cultural differences, addressing gender inequality within families, and overcoming career interruptions due to family responsibilities. The agreement aims to address these issues head-on by pooling the expertise and resources of the participating institutions.

Key provisions of the agreement include the joint development and operation of programs focused on vocational training and social participation activities. It also encompasses tailored counseling services, career planning, and employment linkage support, ensuring that multicultural women can seamlessly integrate into the local workforce and community.

The collaborating organizations are committed to sharing their specialized knowledge and resources to deliver effective support customized to the diverse needs of multicultural women. Furthermore, they plan to solidify their cooperative framework to ensure efficient referral of individuals to the most appropriate services.

Gyeyang-gu Mayor Yoon Hwan emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, "This agreement marks a crucial first step in helping multicultural women stably settle in our community and unleash their potential." He further pledged ongoing collaboration with relevant institutions to cultivate an inclusive and sustainable local society.

The Gyeyang Women's New Job Center is expected to leverage its expertise in career counseling and job matching for women facing career breaks. The Gyeyang Family Center, operating as a Multicultural Family Support Center, will provide essential localization education and comprehensive family support. The Gyeyang Women's Hall will contribute with its programs aimed at women's empowerment and welfare, creating a synergistic approach to enhance the quality of life and opportunities for multicultural women in Gyeyang-gu. This concerted effort underscores Gyeyang-gu's commitment to building a more harmonious and equitable community for all its residents.
