Seoul, South Korea – DeepBrain AI, a leading AI human technology company, announced today that it has partnered with NEC Corporation to provide an AI anchor for Ryukyu Asahi Broadcasting, a regional affiliate of TV Asahi in Okinawa, Japan. This marks a significant milestone for both companies and the broader AI industry.
The AI anchor, developed through a collaboration between DeepBrain AI and NEC, will debut on Ryukyu Asahi Broadcasting's terrestrial and internet channels in January 2025, initially presenting weather forecasts. This innovative solution addresses the broadcasting company's long-standing challenge of a shortage of skilled human talent.
DeepBrain AI's AI Studios platform, which powers the AI anchor, leverages advanced text-to-video technology to create highly realistic digital humans. By simply inputting a script, the platform can generate a lifelike AI anchor capable of delivering content with natural expressions and speech. Moreover, the platform can automatically generate videos with appropriate backgrounds and music based on uploaded text, images, or reports.
The adoption of an AI anchor by Ryukyu Asahi Broadcasting is particularly noteworthy as it addresses the growing demand for multilingual content to cater to the increasing number of foreign residents in Japan. DeepBrain AI's technology enables the creation of AI anchors capable of speaking multiple languages, eliminating the need for human translators and significantly reducing production costs.
This partnership builds upon DeepBrain AI's previous successes in the AI-driven media industry. In September 2023, the company launched a digital AI host on Lotte Home Shopping, showcasing the versatility of its technology in various applications.
