Paraguay's Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) is conducting a digital census of retirees and pension recipients, and it has been revealed that approximately 20,000 retirees have not yet participated in the survey.

The Ministry is carrying out this census to ascertain the current status of registered beneficiaries. As of April 23rd, over 59,000 retirees and pension recipients from fiscal entities, representing 75% of the total, have completed the digital census. However, about 20,000 individuals have not yet participated, and the deadline for the survey is May 3rd.

Jorge Delgado, the General Director of Pensions, stated that "beneficiaries who do not complete the survey within the deadline may have their card usage suspended." This means they will not be able to receive their pension until the census is completed.

After the deadline, the Ministry of Finance will locate and verify the status of unregistered beneficiaries and cross-reference the data with the National Development Bank (BNF) to confirm whether they are still receiving pension payments.

The primary objective of this census is to verify the survival of retirees and pension recipients. Additionally, it collects information such as the beneficiary's address, contact number, email address, and contact information of a close acquaintance.

Director Delgado explained, "Our main goal is to have up-to-date and accurate information on our beneficiaries, whether they are retirees or pension recipients. We are requesting their area of residence, location, phone number, email address, as well as the contact information of a trusted person."

The Ministry of Finance has introduced a new digital method to ensure the accuracy of beneficiary data through this census. Director Delgado added, "This census is being conducted 100% digitally. We have adopted an innovative approach using technology, but our priority is to ensure the safety of our beneficiaries, and we are achieving good results."
