Offers 350,000 KRW per beneficiary for course fees, applications open April 24th

Chungcheongnam-do Province is set to accept applications for its newly expanded '2025 Lifelong Education Voucher' program starting April 24th, targeting low-income individuals, people with disabilities, senior citizens, and those seeking digital skills enhancement. This initiative, a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Education, aims to bridge the gap in lifelong learning participation caused by socio-economic factors and broaden educational opportunities for all residents.

Previously, the program offered only general and disability-specific vouchers. However, the 2025 edition marks a significant expansion with the introduction of vouchers tailored for senior citizens and a 'Digital Career Jump Pass' specifically designed for digital literacy and career advancement. This brings the total voucher types available to four, demonstrating the province's commitment to addressing diverse learning needs.

The primary eligibility criteria include adult residents (aged 19 and above) of Chungnam Province who fall into one of the following categories: low-income individuals, registered persons with disabilities, senior citizens, or individuals intending to enroll in digital skills-related lifelong education courses. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning for the middle-aged demographic, the province has also designated this group as a regionally tailored target for additional support.

Prospective beneficiaries can conveniently apply for the vouchers online through the official Lifelong Education Voucher website (www.lllcard.kr). For the Disability Lifelong Education Voucher, applications can be submitted via the government e-services portal, Gov24 (www.gov.kr), ensuring accessibility for this specific group.

To accommodate residents who may face challenges with online applications, Chungnam Province will also operate physical application centers across its various cities and counties. This multi-channel approach aims to ensure that all eligible individuals have the opportunity to benefit from the program.

The application window for the newly introduced senior citizen, digital, and regionally tailored target group vouchers is scheduled to commence in June. Detailed information regarding the application process, eligibility criteria, and voucher usage guidelines can be obtained by contacting the dedicated Chungnam Lifelong Education Voucher Counseling Center at the toll-free number 1551-3599.

Upon successful selection, beneficiaries will receive a support fund of 350,000 Korean Won. This amount will be credited as points to a personal NH Nonghyup (NongHyup Bank) 'Chaeum' card, specifically for use towards lifelong education course fees and the purchase of necessary learning materials.

Voucher holders will gain access to a wide array of learning opportunities offered by various institutions, including vocational training centers, designated lifelong education facilities, and lifelong vocational education academies. The eligible courses span diverse fields such as professional certification acquisition, entrepreneurship training, foreign language proficiency, humanities studies, and crucially, the rapidly growing areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies. A comprehensive list of participating educational institutions is readily available on the Chungnam Lifelong Education Voucher website, allowing beneficiaries to make informed choices about their learning journey.

A representative from Chungnam Province emphasized the critical role of lifelong education in an era of rapid societal evolution and increasing longevity. "Continuous competency development through lifelong learning is more important than ever," the official stated. "We are committed to addressing educational inequalities arising from economic disparities and empowering our citizens with expanded lifelong learning choices, ultimately contributing to an enhanced quality of life for all residents of Chungnam Province." This initiative underscores the province's proactive approach to fostering a learning society and equipping its citizens with the skills
