HONGSEONG, South Korea – The Chungnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (CHIPA) is commemorating its 20th anniversary by hosting a special screening event for the residents of Chungnam Province. The event will take place on March 28th at Megabox Hongseong Naepo.
This special screening is a gesture of gratitude towards the Chungnam residents who provided cooperation during the filming of the movie <The Girl You Loved Back Then>, a film produced with the support of CHIPA.
The screening will be held in Theater 2 of Megabox Hongseong Naepo and will feature a diverse program. The event will begin with a stage greeting from director Cho Young-myung and the cast members, followed by a film introduction, audience participation events, and a commemorative photo session. The event promises to be a meaningful opportunity for filmmakers and local residents to connect and enjoy the movie together.
<The Girl You Loved Back Then> is a remake of the popular Taiwanese film of the same name. The movie stars Jin Young and Dahyun in leading roles. Notably, the film showcases various attractions in Chungnam Province as key backdrops, including Hongseong Girls' High School, Hongseong High School in Hongseong, Sapgyoho Amusement Park in Dangjin, and Juan Bridge in Yesan, capturing the diverse charm of the region on screen. Recognizing the film's extensive use of Chungnam locations, <The Girl You Loved Back Then> was selected for CHIPA's 'Chungnam Location Incentive Program'. Interested individuals can participate in this special screening by pre-registering via the provided QR code.
Kim Gok-mi, Director of CHIPA, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We are very pleased to host this special event where we can enjoy a film shot in Chungnam together with our residents. CHIPA has been actively attracting high-quality video content through proactive filming support and incentive programs. We will continue to expand our support to ensure Chungnam establishes itself as a central hub for video content production and will strive for the development of a mutually beneficial film industry in the region."
