The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In-chon, hereinafter referred to as MCST) and the Korea Tourism Organization (hereinafter referred to as KTO), in collaboration with the Mongolian Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Mongolian Tourism Organization, held the opening ceremony for the 'Mongolia Tourism Education Complex Center' on May 29th in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The 'Mongolia Tourism Education Complex Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center)' is the first tourism infrastructure facility established through the MCST's Official Development Assistance (ODA) project in the tourism sector. Beyond being a mere educational facility, it aims to support the qualitative improvement of Mongolia's tourism infrastructure and establish a sustainable tourism development model. Its construction involved approximately three years of design and building processes.
As the Center has garnered significant anticipation and interest from the Mongolian government since the early stages of the project, high-ranking Mongolian officials, including Nomin, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Tuvshinjargal, President of the Tourism Organization, attended the opening ceremony to celebrate the establishment of an educational institution for nurturing future tourism talent through bilateral tourism cooperation.
Notably, during this opening ceremony, the Mongolian government stated that it would leverage the establishment of the Center as an opportunity to strengthen its national tourism competitiveness. To this end, Mongolia announced its phased implementation plan (roadmap) for tourism policy and a new tourism brand (Go Mongolia 2.0).
