The Korean Diaspora Agency has extended an invitation to 441 next-generation Koreans from 31 countries worldwide to visit Korea and immerse themselves in their cultural heritage.
The 7th and 8th Next-Generation Korean Homeland Invitation Programs, which commenced on January 13th and 14th respectively, are welcoming 253 and 188 youth and university students. Designed to last a week, these programs aim to foster a deeper appreciation for Korean culture, history, and advancements, thereby strengthening their sense of national pride.
Organized by the Korean Diaspora Agency and overseen by the Korean Diaspora Cooperation Center, the programs offer a rich tapestry of experiences. Participants in the 7th program are exploring traditional culture, K-pop, and the historical significance of regions like Seoul, Buyeo, and Daejeon. They are also learning about Baekje's maritime advancements and its role in introducing Chinese characters to Japan. Moreover, visits to institutions like the National Science Museum provide opportunities to delve into cutting-edge fields like space exploration and augmented reality sports.
University students and graduate students participating in the 8th program are embarking on cultural and historical journeys through Seoul, Busan, and Incheon. They are also engaging in programs designed to cultivate global leadership, such as those addressing climate change.
