SOUTH CHUNGCHEONG PROVINCE, KOREA – South Chungcheong Province is continuing its initiative to reduce the financial burden on its citizens by maintaining its land survey fee reduction program, officials announced on the 24th. The policy aims to ensure accessible and affordable land surveying services for a wider range of residents.
The fee reduction program specifically targets vulnerable populations and those contributing to the agricultural sector. Eligible individuals include farmers participating in government-subsidized agricultural infrastructure projects, such as the construction of low-temperature storage facilities and the installation of grain dryers, as well as beneficiaries of rural housing improvement projects. Additionally, veterans, their families, bereaved family members, and individuals with disabilities are entitled to these benefits.
Under the program, eligible landowners will receive a 30% discount on land survey fees for their personal property. Residents involved in the Saetteul Village Project, a community development initiative, will benefit from an even greater reduction of 50%.
The province also offers significant discounts for re-requested surveys. Depending on the time elapsed since the initial survey, residents can receive up to a 90% reduction in fees. Furthermore, if a survey is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and a new request is submitted within a year, a 30% discount on the previously deducted amount will be applied.
To avail these reductions, farmers are required to submit documentation confirming their participation in government subsidy programs or their selection for rural housing improvement support. Veterans and individuals with disabilities must provide relevant identification such as a veteran identification card or a disability certificate.
Residents seeking more information or wishing to apply for the fee reductions can contact the land survey registration desk at their local city or county civil service office. Alternatively, they can reach the Korea National Spatial Information Corporation's Land Survey Immediate Processing Call Center at 1588-7704.
Lim Taek-bin, Head of the Provincial Land Management Division, emphasized the importance of the program, stating, "The land survey fee reduction system will significantly help alleviate the economic burden on socially vulnerable individuals and all residents of our province. We are committed to expanding these benefits to reach even more people in the future."
The impact of this initiative was evident in the previous year, as South Chungcheong Province provided land survey fee reductions totaling 2.24 billion won across 6,256 cases. This included residents in special disaster areas affected by severe weather events like heavy rain and snow, demonstrating the province's commitment to supporting its communities during challenging times.
