South Korean actors Kim Hye-soo and Jung Sung-il have shared some behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their latest project, "Unmasked." The duo attended the production presentation at Sands Expo & Convention Center on [Date] and offered fans a glimpse into the challenges and joys of filming.
Kim, known for her versatile acting and strong on-screen presence, revealed that the physical demands of the drama took a toll on her. "The early shoots took place in winter, and it was physically demanding. I ended up tearing a muscle in my right thigh while running. I thought I could just film close-ups of my face since I was injured, but that didn't work out," she shared, laughing. "The scene turned out to be quite dynamic."
Jung Sung-il, who often portrays complex and intriguing characters, added a humorous anecdote about a particularly memorable scene. "The filming set was so fun. There was actually a real rat that fell on my head during one scene. I continued acting as if it was all part of the script, but the director told me through the walkie-talkie that the rat was still there. It was a take that we ended up using. You could say we got a 'Ratatouille' moment in 'Unmasked'," he joked.
When asked about her role as a senior actor mentoring younger generations, Kim expressed humility. "I only feel like a senior in situations like this," she said. "On set, I'm actually quite awkward. I don't think age matters." She continued, "People often see me as a more beautiful and mature senior, but in reality, I have many weaknesses, especially when it comes to work and even more so in my personal life. Everyone knows about these weaknesses and covers for me."
Jung Sung-il expressed his gratitude for the experience, saying, "Every day of filming was a blessing. The overall atmosphere was very comfortable. I don't know if I'll ever have the chance to work on a project like this again."
