Asuncion, Paraguay – Paraguay's exports reached $576 million in February, marking a 12% increase from the previous month, according to the Single Window for Exports (VUE). The total export volume reached approximately 944,400 tons, signaling a robust start to the year for the nation's trade sector.

A dominant feature of Paraguay's export landscape is its strong reliance on the Americas, which accounted for 84% of total exports, totaling $481 million. Argentina and Brazil emerged as key export destinations, with respective values of $185 million and $162 million. Additionally, significant exports were directed towards Chile, the United States, Peru, Uruguay, and Bolivia, illustrating a diversified regional market.

While the Americas remain the primary export market, Paraguay is actively pursuing diversification efforts across other continents. Exports to Asia reached $49 million, with Taiwan and Israel being major importers. European and African markets also saw substantial exports, amounting to $29 million and $15 million, respectively. Furthermore, exports to Oceania were recorded, indicating a growing global reach.

The surge in exports can be attributed to several factors, including proactive government export support policies, the strategic utilization of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and other FTAs, and the increasing competitiveness of Paraguay's agricultural and processed food products. Key export commodities, such as soybeans, beef, electric energy, and grains, have consistently contributed to this positive trend.

Paraguay's strategic location in the heart of South America, coupled with its abundant agricultural resources, positions the country for continued export growth. The Paraguayan government aims to capitalize on this momentum by further diversifying its export markets and focusing on the development of high-value-added products.

Paraguay's export profile includes a wide range of commodities, such as soybeans, beef, electric energy, grains, timber, and leather. Its key export partners span across continents, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Russia, Taiwan, the United States, and Israel.

The Paraguayan government actively supports exports through various initiatives, including export credit guarantee schemes, export insurance programs, and export marketing support programs. The nation has also established a network of FTAs, including its membership in Mercosur and agreements with Chile, Israel, and Taiwan.

With its strategic advantages and proactive government policies, Paraguay is poised for sustained export growth and economic development.
