The 27th '2025 World Young Korean Leaders Convention' commenced on the afternoon of the 27th with an opening ceremony at the Premier Ballroom on the 2nd floor of Songdo Convensia in Incheon.

Hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA), led by Administrator Lee Sang-deok, the convention will run until the 31st under the slogan 'Koreans in a Connected World, A Greater Leap Forward.'

This event has been organized by the Overseas Koreans Foundation since 1998, and this is the third time it's been held since the establishment of the OKA.

This year's convention saw 62 young Korean leaders from 26 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, China, Russia, Argentina, and Germany, participate.

The opening ceremony began with a theme video screening, followed by the national anthem, Administrator Lee Sang-deok's opening address, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok's welcoming remarks, congratulatory speeches from Kim Geon, Secretary of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee (People Power Party), Lee Ki-heon, Senior Vice Chairman of the World Korean Democratic Congress (Democratic Party of Korea), and Cho Young-hee, President of the International Association of Korean Lawyers. The event concluded with a response from the participant representative (Song Solcarola of Argentina), a commemorative photo, and a welcome dinner.

In his opening address, Administrator Lee said, "I welcome you, the main players who will lead the global network. Having taken office as the Administrator of the OKA in late July last year, and as a former diplomat, I encountered overseas Korean communities during my travels in the 1980s and 1990s. Our predecessors, by overcoming initial difficulties and dedicating themselves, have produced outstanding successors like yourselves."
