On July 18th, Bucheon City held a "Beauty and Medical Tourism Industry Co-prosperity Cooperation MOU Ceremony" at the meeting room of Bucheon City Hall, together with the Bucheon City Cosmetics Industry Association and the Bucheon City Medical Tourism Council.
This agreement was driven by Bucheon City's initiative to integrate the K-beauty and medical tourism industries, which are being fostered as new growth engines for the future, thereby strengthening the local industrial ecosystem and laying the foundation for joint projects aimed at international market expansion.
The signing ceremony was attended by a total of 12 individuals, including Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik, Vice Chairman Yoo Jung-ho of the Bucheon City Cosmetics Industry Association, Chairman Lee Yoo-young of the Bucheon City Medical Tourism Council, as well as city officials and representatives from both organizations.
According to the agreement, the three organizations plan to collaborate in various areas, including discovering policies and projects for the development of Bucheon City's beauty and medical tourism industries, exploring joint domestic and international promotion and marketing strategies, and establishing and operating networks between beauty companies and medical institutions.
In particular, the city and both organizations agreed to pursue joint projects through working-level meetings to attract foreign patients and expand sales channels for local cosmetics. Consequently, concrete and feasible business models, such as providing experiential cosmetics produced by local companies to foreign patients, were also discussed.
Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik stated, "This agreement serves as an opportunity for Bucheon City to demonstrate its commitment to actively fostering K-beauty and medical tourism as future industries." He added, "Moving forward, the public and private sectors will continue to cooperate to advance as a beauty and medical tourism city with international competitiveness."
Meanwhile, Bucheon City plans to promote a joint medical and beauty overseas briefing session in August, leveraging this agreement. Moving forward, the city intends to regularly operate the councils and consistently pursue various follow-up projects. In addition, in the mid-to-long term, the city plans to explore strategies to enhance overall industrial competitiveness based on public-private cooperation.
