The MuCi Science Museum (Museo de Ciencias), Paraguay's leading science education institution, is set to promote science culture by hosting a variety of enriching science experience events throughout May. Notably, special programs blending science and festivities are organized in connection with various May commemorations, including Paraguayan National Holidays, Mother's Day, Paraguayan Chemist's Day, World Migratory Bird Day, and International Museum Day, drawing significant attention.

MuCi will conduct exciting science activities throughout May, primarily at the TatakuaLab located within the Textilia complex and the San Cosmos Planetarium. A key feature of this event is its focus on interactive programs designed to make science accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages.

The World of Science Begins with Reading, Chemistry, and Mathematics

The first activity of May was "The Blaze: Science Reading Club (La Fogata: Club de Lectura de Ciencias)," held last Saturday, May 3rd, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Led by environmental engineer Esther Benítez, participants aged 15 and over engaged in discussions about fascinating stories related to the universe, nature, and great scientific discoveries.

To commemorate Paraguayan Chemist's Day, the "Science Explorers Club: Chemistry (Club Exploradores de las Ciencias: Química)" event will take place on Thursday, May 8th, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Alan Benítez, founder of Kuarahy, will be the speaker, explaining in an easy and engaging manner to adolescents aged 12 and over how chemistry changes the world.

On Friday, May 9th, at the same time, a special activity focused on mathematics will be held. Led by Kirara Takaoka, this session aims to increase familiarity with mathematics by exploring the mathematical principles of numbers, patterns, and shapes found in our daily lives.

Exploring Ecology, Environment, and Sustainability through Science

On Saturday, May 10th, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, a World Migratory Bird Day commemoration event titled "Moving Horizons (Horizontes en movimiento)" will be held. Aimed at teenagers, teachers, and ecology enthusiasts, this program will combine lectures on the behavior and migration routes of migratory birds with actual birdwatching activities, offering a direct experience of nature's wonders.

Special Science Events Honoring Mothers and Museums

On Wednesday, May 14th, a special event celebrating Mother's Day, "Mother's Flower (Flor de mamá)," will be held. This event will offer mothers special memories through diverse activities blending art and science. The TatakuaLab will host plant pressing, a hands-on watercolor painting experience, poetry readings, and birdwatching walks, while the San Cosmos Planetarium will offer a solar observation session, providing a unique experience.

To commemorate International Museum Day, MuCi will participate in the "Museums on Display 2025 (Los museos se muestran 2025)" event held at the Juan de Salazar Spanish Cultural Center on Saturday, May 17th. MuCi will showcase a magnifying glass table for insect observation, promoting the educational role of museums and engaging with the public.

Learning Science Through Water and Movement

On the last day of May, Saturday the 31st, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the event "Rowing with Science: The Body as an Engine (Remar con ciencia: el cuerpo como motor)" will take place. Led by Pablo Seitz of the rowing club, this program will combine science, sports, and movement on water, offering participants of all ages a special experience of understanding scientific principles through physical activity.

In addition to these events, the permanent exhibition "Land of Water (Tierra de Agua)" will be on display throughout May at MuCi's TatakuaLab. This interactive exhibition explores the importance of water from scientific and everyday perspectives, providing visitors with an in-depth understanding.
