Jeddah - Nama, a new collective dedicated to empowering young creatives, successfully hosted its inaugural event in Jeddah this week. The two-day "Jazz Night and Silent Art Auction" at Huna Alhabib showcased the power of collaboration and celebrated cultural diversity.
Featuring over 30 donated artworks from artists across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Spain, Canada, and more, the event bridged artistic communities. The seamless blend of jazz music and visual art created an engaging atmosphere, attracting a diverse audience.
Nama's founder, Jana Abdulaziz, shared the inspiring journey of transforming a simple online group into a thriving collective. Despite initial challenges, Abdulaziz's determination and passion brought the project to life.
The event resonated with artists and attendees alike. Yousef Zaini, a local artist and donor, emphasized the importance of art in invoking emotions and perspectives. Renowned artist E. L. Seed highlighted the significance of supporting young artists through such initiatives.
Beyond the auction, the event offered an immersive experience with live jazz performances, artist portraits, and vendor stalls. Jwan Abdulhafeez, Nama's head of media, emphasized the collective's vision to create a vibrant and engaging cultural experience.
Mohammad Aboalola, founder of Mena Youth Magazine, praised Nama's collaborative approach and their commitment to fostering meaningful connections within the art community.
