Sydney, Australia – A South Korean smart farm technology company, Green Plus, has secured a substantial contract to construct a large-scale, high-tech greenhouse in Australia. The deal, valued at approximately $39 million USD, will see Green Plus build a 10-hectare strawberry farm in partnership with Australian firm Puregreen Farms.

This latest agreement builds upon a previous contract signed in September, bringing the total area of smart greenhouses that Green Plus will construct in Australia to 15 hectares. Puregreen Farms, a subsidiary of Red Coconut, a leading Australian greenhouse operator, has expressed confidence in the partnership, citing South Korea’s advanced smart farming technology.

“This contract is a testament to the collective efforts of the South Korean government and private sector to raise the global profile of K-Smart Farms,” said Jung Soon-tae, CEO of Green Plus. “We anticipate securing additional contracts worth over $10 million USD with other Australian companies in the near future.”

A spokesperson for Puregreen Farms emphasized the potential of this partnership to revolutionize agriculture in Australia. "South Korea's smart farming technology is world-renowned," they said. "We are excited to collaborate with Green Plus and bring efficient smart farming to Australia."

The South Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs highlighted the significance of this deal. "This contract is a clear indication that Australia recognizes the advanced capabilities and potential of South Korea's smart farming technology as the country seeks to transition from traditional agriculture to smart farming," said a ministry official.
